Join expert botanist and herbalist Latifa Pelletier-Ahmed for an exploration of wild edible and medicinal plants in Kananaskis country. By attending this immersive session you will develop an understanding and appreciation for the complex and diverse ecosystem that is in our backyard. One of the aims of our time together will be to become present and engaged with the spirit of the forest to allow our perception to broaden. By cultivating a respectful and present mind as our foundation, we will learn to identify plants using all of our senses. During a day out in the field you will learn how to apply sustainable harvesting techniques, and how to ID and gather select plants from abundant, healthy populations.
Towards the end of the day we will combine our wild harvested ingredients to make a delicious communal meal. We will discuss recipes and the specific medicinal uses of our wild harvested plants.
