Wild Plant Walk with Blaine Andrusek – July 15

Wild Plant Walk

with Blaine Andrusek

Saturday July 15, 2017

09:00am – 05:00pm

Western Canada’s wilderness, and even your own backyard, offer hundreds of species of plants with edible and medicinal uses.
Join us for a fun and colourful introduction with Blaine Andrusek, Master Herbalist, who’s been providing such guided walks in our area for now close to 40 years!

References to traditional European, First Nation and Chinese values will be explored, with lots of personal history, case studies and recipe ideas!

Blaine is a joy to learn from due to his vast knowledge, engaging story-telling and witty-personality.

It is a rare treat to be able to host Blaine and offer you the opportunoty to learn about local wild edibles and herbs from him.

This class will fill and we encourage you to register early to ensure a spot as we do limit the number of participants for maximum learning!

LOCATION – Edworthy Park, South side of Bow River, parking lot near railway tracks.
THIS EVENT WILL RUN RAIN OR SHINE  Dress appropriately, and bring an umbrella (you can’t hear or take notes with a hood on in the rain)  Bring lunch, water, bug spray, etc.  The morning will be in sight of the parking lot where washroom facilities exist.  The afternoon will take us about 8 blocks eastward on mostly level ground – no athletic endurance test here.

There will be some handouts for guidance and note taking, and Blaine may have a few field guides for sale as well.
