Wildcrafting Expedition: Discover Local Wild Plants as Food and Medicine – August 6 – FULL

Wildcrafting Expedition: Discover Local Wild Plants as Food and Medicine

Saturday August 6th 2016

10:00am – 6:00pm

with Patrick Kooyman

Wildcrafting is the art and practice of harvesting wild plants and fungi to use as food and medicine.

This class is an opportunity for you to get out of the city, and into the forests and fields. You will learn about and gather local herbs that can provide a tasty treat, as well as those that will help stock your medicine chest. We will connect deeper with our local environment, and learn what amazing treasures have been growing all around us!

You will learn hands-on how to identify common edible and medicinal plants, and what they are good for. You will also learn the best times and methods of harvesting, and how to prepare or preserve your harvest for use throughout the year.

This is an out-of-town class. Participants will meet at The Light Cellar at 10am and then carpool to the destination (To Be Announced), within an hour’s drive. We will return back to Light Cellar by 6pm.

Class size is limited.
